Piranhas flesh-eating fish attack 100 in Brazil

Piaui, Sept 27 (TruthDive): Brazilian authorities are struggling to rein in a surge in the piranha population. Piranhas took a bite of at least 100 swimmers at the coastal region of North East Brazil this weekend. The attacks happened at Calf Dam (Barragem do Bezerro), not far from big city Teresina in Brazil’s Piauí state.
Authorities in Brazil’s Piaui state are racing to act against a rising piranha that is now threatening to shut the beach down. They believe the problem is due to a large increase of the Piranha population in recent years.
Authorities suspect that the fish have attacked humans because the piranha population has exploded at a rate much faster than fish lower on the food chain. Piranhas attack humans when they are under some kind of pressure, like hunger, especially if their population has increased too much.
The fish usually does not swim out to coastal shores but insufficient food supply has forced the large group of fish to find food elsewhere. Romildo Mafra, a local government official, says “because Piranhas do not have any natural animals they attack people at the beach”.
Officials have flooded local waters with tilapia hoping to curtail the piranha’s hunger somewhat. Wildlife authorities are also attempting to figure out a way to quell the piranha population before it gets too far out of control to handle.
Piranhas took a bite of at least 100 swimmers at a beach in Brazil last weekend. In a UOL Noticias report, nearly 100 people who had been swimming in the water at Piaui state’s main beach last weekend, were taken to the hospital and treated for piranha bites along their toes and heels. While the likelihood of a piranha-induced death is, marginal it is still an odd occurrence to have the fish attacking human is in the first place.
Local authorities are informing beach goers to not wade in low water and wear protective footgear.

德國世界報報導，巴西東北部的皮奧伊州因人為過度捕撈，食人魚（Piranha）少了天敵又缺少食物，開始頻繁攻擊人類，上周末有超過100名泳客的腳趾和後腳跟被咬傷，甚至有人須就醫治療。

巴西環境和永續天然資源研究院表示：「人們喜歡丟東西給食人魚吃，漁民對打撈食人魚也沒興趣，他們多半只捕孔雀鱸魚和吳郭魚，最終破壞水壩的自然平衡。食人魚的獵食者不見，導致數量暴增。」

為了重建食物鏈平衡，環保部門在皮奧伊州水域投放了10萬條吳郭魚以解燃眉之急，未來兩個月內並將陸續放生孔雀鱸魚在內的20萬條魚。一方面可供食人魚食用，另一方面也因為牠們特別喜愛吃食人魚的卵。此外，當局也開放垂釣，水壩統計，解禁40天內已有上千隻食人魚被捕。

看了圖片~好像是紅腹虎魚..和牙魚??

因為過度捕撈~導致食人魚沒有天敵或沒有食物~導致襲擊人類..

要怪人類嗎??

之前總是聽店家們說~食人魚在當地是食用魚~而且禁止捕撈~

但文中提到...漁民對打撈食人魚沒興趣(所以是部分流域禁止捕撈囉?)

可是..貿易商..常說抓不到魚..很貴..漁民也知道食人魚有觀賞價值了..
